About Dr. Micaela Thordarson
Dr. Micaela Thordarson, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who specializes in care for children, adolescents and families and is passionate about working with high-risk pediatric patients. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, and a PhD and master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University.
Dr. Micaela is currently on staff as a Pediatric Psychologist and at Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), where she coordinates outpatient services, clinic visits, and program development for kids and teens. Will Dr. K be part of the workshop?
No, Dr. K will not be participating in this workshop. The workshop will be led by Dr. Micaela, a member of our Scientific Advisory Board and accomplished licensed psychologist at CHOC health.
Can I access the workshop recording after the event?
The recording will be available to workshop attendees for 7 days after the event (through May 5th).
What is the refund policy?
You may receive a full refund for your purchase any time before April 23rd, 2025 11:59 PM CST (3 days before the workshop).
We cannot issue a refund less than 3 days before the event. When you purchase a seat, you are holding a spot that could be occupied by someone else. The 3-day period gives someone on our waitlist enough time to claim your seat.
If a refund is issued, it will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase. We cannot issue a refund to a different credit or debit card (this includes refund requests made through the self-service option). If your credit card or debit card number has changed, but is for the same account (e.g., a new card has been issued for the same account), the refund will be processed to that account.
Is the workshop free with my HG Membership?
No, workshops are not currently included with HG Memberships and must be purchased separately. However, AOE Healers receive a 15% off discount for their seats.
How long is the workshop?
The workshop will span two sessions, lasting approximately 3 hours each (12-3pm CT). Session 1 is scheduled for Saturday, April 26th, and Session 2 will be on Sunday, April 27th.
Where will the workshop take place?
The workshop will be hosted on Zoom. The link to the Zoom will be sent out 3 days before the event.

What if I'm not available on April 26th and/or April 27th?
If you can’t attend the workshop live, the recording of the event will be available on our platform through May 5th. However, kindly note that by not attending live you will be missing out on the guided exercises offered in the live experience.
How is this different from a livestream?
In this workshop, you're not just watching a video or stream. It's a hands-on experience where you'll receive valuable, expert insights, participate in live activities to apply what you learn, and receive additional tools to support you after the workshop!
Why does the workshop cost money?
This workshop involves the dedicated time and expertise of our licensed clinicians. It's a live, interactive experience where you get direct access to valuable information and resources.
The price of $150 allots you 6 hours worth of in-depth guidance from a licensed mental health professional. This evens out to $25/hour of our professionals’ time, where it could cost between $100-200 for just one hour in a therapy setting, or otherwise. This is not a replacement for therapy, so we found this price point reasonable in respect of our professionals’ time.
